MacBook iAlertU Car Alarm Of all the stupid things you can do with the MacBook SMS (sudden motion sensor), Randy Green of Greenwood Missouri has created something really useful. Check out this video to get the idea: Your car can detect if it's being stolen, why can't your laptop? That's where iAlertU comes into play. Suppose you're in Starbucks supporting your highly addictive caffeine crave, and you'd like to get another latte but you're worried about leaving your laptop behind. Turn on iAlertU and if anyone tries to steal your laptop, the software will trigger an audible and visual alarm. Just imagine the frantic reaction you'll see from everyone in the store.. Here's a screenshot of the software: To "arm" the laptop, simply use the standard infrared remote that comes with all MacBooks. To download, visit the iAlertU home page.
